CHARLES VILLIERS STANFORD 1852-1924
Stanford was Professor of Music at Cambridge University for twenty years, and a founding director of the
Royal College of Music, leaving a legacy of glorious sacred choral music.
Temenos will perform three of his beloved Latin motets:
Beati quorum via; Justorum animae; Coelos ascendit as well as
the exquisite English motet Eternal Father and his double choir
Latin Magnificat.
Stanford also wrote 300 songs, and
Patrick Craig will perform two of the most beautiful.

GUSTAV THEODORE HOLST 1874-1934
Holst was a pupil of Stanford at the Royal College of Music,
and Temenos will perform some of his most striking a capella works
including The Evening Watch and his
gorgeous 8-part Ave Maria for
upper voices.
