1 litre Apple Juice
1 litre Red Grape Juice or Cranberry Juice
1 litre dry Ginger Ale
4 whole allspice
1 crushed cinnamon stick
5 cloves
a walnut-sized piece of root ginger, peeled and chopped finely
grated rind of 1 orange

FESTIVE PUNCH  non-alcoholic

FIRST Prepare the spiced apple:
Add the grated orange rind to the apple juice in a saucepan.
Add spices and ginger, and bring to the boil. Simmer for 30 mins.
Remove from heat and allow to cool slowly.
Refrigerate when cold. Sieve to remove spices.

To serve, mix equal parts of the spiced apple juice with the chilled grape
(or cranberry) juice and chilled ginger ale.

Alcoholic - use champagne instead of the ginger ale!
